In our unit, which provides education in the undergraduate program, our students can optionally receive pedagogical formation training during the formal education and training period (after the 6th semester) and pursue a career in this field.
In this context
1. Students of faculties/colleges/conservatories in fields where formation training can be received, other than the faculties that train teachers included in the Ministry of National Education Board of Education and Discipline's 20/02/2014 dated and 9 numbered "Teaching Areas, Appointment and Course Teaching Principles", will be able to receive pedagogical formation training.
2. Students in the faculties/colleges/conservatories programs defined in the first article, who are in the formal education program and can receive pedagogical formation training, will be able to take the elective courses within the scope of formation training listed in the table starting from the third year. These courses will be opened under the coordination of the Faculty of Education and students will be admitted.
3. The ECTS of the Pedagogical Formation Training courses will not be included in the total ECTS credits (240 ECTS) of the courses that are in the curriculum of the program the student is enrolled in and are a graduation requirement.
4. For graduation; the total ECTS credits of students in programs with a 4-year undergraduate education and training period who receive Pedagogical Formation Training will not be less than 280, and for students in programs with a 5-year undergraduate education and training period, the total ECTS credits will not be less than 340.
5. The number of students who can take the teaching practice course, which will be offered starting from the 2023-2024 Academic Year Fall Semester, will be determined based on the number of practice teachers who have staff in the Burdur Provincial Directorate of National Education and can be assigned for the teaching practice course in the teaching areas essential for appointment by the Ministry of National Education, and the number of university teaching staff who will conduct the related course. The ranking of students applying for the teaching practice course within the determined quota will be based on their GPA.
6. The credits of the elective courses taken and successfully completed within the scope of pedagogical formation training will be added to the total ECTS credits of the courses in the student's curriculum, reflected in their transcript, and will affect the weighted general grade point average.
7. In the transcript of students who take pedagogical formation training courses as elective courses but do not complete all of them, only the courses they have taken and successfully completed will be included.
8. For the statement "Completed Pedagogical Formation Training" to be included in the student's diploma, all courses must be successfully completed (including the Teaching Practice course, a total of 40 ECTS).
9. Graduation procedures will be carried out at the end of the spring semester for final-year students who take pedagogical formation courses as elective courses in the spring semester and fulfill all the requirements for graduation from the program they are enrolled in, upon their request.
10. Students who fulfill all the requirements for graduation from the program they are enrolled in but wish to continue taking elective courses within the scope of formation training by notifying in writing will:
a) Continue their student status by taking courses in the next academic term. They will continue to take formation elective courses in the Summer School of the Academic Year (excluding the Teaching Practice course) or in the fall term.
