Information Regarding Conducting Classes Through Distance Education
Yapılış Tarihi | 20 March 2020, Friday
In line with the decisions taken by the Council of Higher Education to ensure that education and training processes can continue as uninterruptedly as possible due to the Coronavirus outbreak, our university quickly held a senate meeting and made the necessary arrangements, and determined the principles regarding the conduct of courses through our University's Distance Education System. In this context, I present the decisions taken by our senate for your information.
- By making the necessary preparations in all academic units of our university, courses at the associate degree, undergraduate and graduate levels will be conducted through our university's distance education system as of 30.03.2020.
- Courses will be conducted synchronously (simultaneously) within the framework of the program announced by the academic units and will be recorded in the system. Students will be able to participate in the course live from where they are by logging into the system at the course time specified in the announced program.
- Students who cannot participate in synchronous courses due to internet facilities, technical inadequacies, etc., will be able to participate in the relevant courses asynchronously at a later time by watching the recorded course and will be considered to have attended the course.
- An information and introduction presentation on how our students will participate in the courses through the distance education system will be shared with them soon.
- Courses that are required to be conducted practically, such as laboratory, workplace practice, internship, will be conducted intensively at a later date.
- Midterm and final exams of the courses will be held at a later date with the method to be determined by our university, and detailed information on the subject will be provided according to the developments.
I would like all our students to know that some courses at our university have already been offered through the distance education system for 4 years, and that courses can be conducted smoothly and comfortably with the development of the technical capacity of the system, and that all resources have been mobilized at this point.
In addition, all kinds of information regarding new developments and arrangements related to the process will be shared on our university's website and social media accounts, and I kindly request that no information not shared by our university be trusted and that actions be taken calmly during this process.
